The Scent profile block tells a shopper how a scent behaves. It's a product page block in product and product.oil, and you can add it to Featured product. It's built from these parts, in this order:

  1. Notes: three paper strips of stepped length, laid like a fan: Top, Heart and Base. The top strip's tip takes the scent's family tint.
  2. Accords: bars with pointed ends, with the percentage printed beside each.
  3. Longevity and sillage: "About 8 hours" with a ruler of 12 ticks, and Intimate, Moderate, Strong or Enormous with four hanging strips.
  4. Seasons and times: small plain chips.
  5. Layer it with: up to three of your other scents, each with its image, notes and "From $7.00" price.

Chapter 7 explains how to fill in each metafield.

Each part shows only when it has data, and with no parts the whole block disappears, heading included. So a product with no metafields is safe on any template, and you can fill in your catalogue a little at a time. In the theme editor, a product with no data shows a full sample so you can see the layout. Shoppers never see that sample.

For Layer it with, sold-out products are left out and don't use up a place, and the first three that can be bought are shown.
