Who we are
Buglyph is an independent software studio that makes themes for Shopify. In this policy, “Buglyph”, “we” and “us” mean the studio. Questions about this policy go to hello@buglyph.com.
This website
buglyph.com is a static website. Netlify hosts it, and Cloudflare runs the domain’s DNS and delivers the site to your browser. To deliver pages and protect the site from abuse, their servers process the technical details your browser sends with every request, such as your IP address, browser type and the page you asked for, and keep them in their logs for a limited time. We don’t use these details to identify you.
Everything on the site, including fonts and images, is served from buglyph.com. We don’t set cookies, run analytics or load scripts from other companies. Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary security cookie when it needs to check that a visitor isn’t an automated program.
Support requests
When you send the Techno support form, we receive:
- your name and email address
- your store’s address, plus the theme version, page address, preview link and collaborator request code if you give them
- the topic you chose, your description of the problem, and whether custom code or apps are involved
- a file, if you attach one
Netlify also records when the form was sent, and may record technical details such as your IP address and browser.
Here’s how a request travels:
- Netlify Forms receives the request and any file, stores them, checks the request for spam, and emails us a copy.
- Resend sends you an automatic confirmation from hello@buglyph.com. It repeats your name, store, topic and the optional details you gave, says whether you attached a file, and quotes the first 600 characters of your message.
- Cloudflare Email Routing passes email sent to hello@buglyph.com to our email provider, where we read and answer it.
If you email us instead of using the form, the same applies from the moment your email reaches hello@buglyph.com.
We use support requests only to answer you and to fix problems in the theme. We don’t use them for marketing, we never add you to a mailing list, and we don’t sell or share them, except with the service providers on this page, who handle them for us.
If you give us a collaborator request code, we use it only to send your store a collaborator request for the work you asked about. You can accept or decline the request, and remove our access at any time in your Shopify admin. We’ll ask you to remove it when we’re done. We never ask for your password.
How long we keep it. Support submissions and attachments are deleted 12 months after the request is closed. Resend keeps a record of each confirmation email for a limited time under its own policy.
The Techno theme
Techno runs on your Shopify store, not on our servers. The theme:
- sets no cookies and uses no browser storage of its own
- sends no data to Buglyph, or to anyone else
- loads nothing from other companies’ servers, except fonts from Shopify’s own font service when you choose a font from Shopify’s font library
Your store’s data, and your customers’, is handled by Shopify under your store’s privacy policy and Shopify’s terms. We can’t see it. When you buy Techno on Etsy, Etsy processes the purchase under its own privacy policy and shares the order details it gives every seller with us, such as your name and Etsy username. We use them for that order, for support and for our sales records.

Some of these providers are based in the United States, so your information may be processed outside your country.
Your choices and rights
You can ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing hello@buglyph.com. We’ll reply within 30 days. Depending on where you live, you may have other rights too, such as objecting to how we use your information or complaining to your local data protection authority.
Security
The site is served only over HTTPS, so the support form and everything you send through it travel encrypted. Only the people who answer support requests can read them.
Children
This website and our support are meant for businesses, not children, and we don’t knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
