Altar
A theme for crystal and mineral shops, tarot and oracle sellers, witchy apothecaries and astrology brands. Their shoppers browse by intention, by sign, by the moon and stone by stone, and Altar answers each of those right on the page. It looks like a celestial almanac laid out on a candlelit altar: a deep night indigo drawn in fine antique‑gold linework, products standing in tarot cards with an inset double rule, collections and the moon itself in round moon masks ringed by an orbit, hand‑drawn constellations, and a tall condensed serif over a book serif, so the shop reads like an almanac rather than an app.
One theme, four color palettes.
Pick one in Theme settings › Colors. Change any single color to make an exception.
Switch at any time
The palettes are one setting, not separate installs. Two are dark and two are light, and you can override any of their sixteen colors.
Checked for contrast
Every text and control color is measured against WCAG AA contrast on every ground the theme uses, the night band, the selected piece card and the Sale badge included.
A night sky in every palette
Even the light palettes keep a dark night band, so the moon, the zodiac wheel, the newsletter and the footer always sit under a night sky.
Three presets, one theme.
Each preset is a complete starting store, with its own home page, palette and fonts. Every section, block and setting is in all three.
Altar
For crystal shops and witchy shops, with a moon orbit hero (“Stones for every intention”), Tonight’s moon with products for this moon, Calm, Protection, Love, Abundance and Clarity as intention tarot cards, best sellers, the zodiac wheel with Find your sign, a Pick your piece showcase, a sourcing story in three steps, testimonials and the Moon notes newsletter.
Apothecary
For herbs, cleansing bundles, ritual candles and incense, with a moon orbit hero (“Herbs and candles for small rituals”), the moon phase, a grid of cleansing herbs and bundles, three ritual kits, Cleansing, Protection, Sleep, Love and Focus as intention cards, a garden story, testimonials and the Moon notes newsletter.
Arcana
For tarot and oracle decks, astrology and birth chart prints, with a moon orbit hero (“Decks for the questions you carry”), the zodiac wheel, new decks, the moon phase with a three‑card spread for each part of the cycle, Guidance, Love, Work, Shadow work and Creativity as intention cards, “Learn to read in three evenings”, an FAQ, testimonials and the Moon notes newsletter.
By intention, by sign, by the moon, stone by stone.
All four are built in, with no app. The crystal properties and each piece’s weight and size read product and variant metafields that you set up once; the intention cards, the zodiac wheel and the moon’s products come from section settings and your collections. A product without that data shows no properties panel and no chips, so nothing shows half‑empty.
Crystal properties
A Crystal properties panel on the product page, framed in a fine double rule: intentions as chips that link to every product sharing them, chakras as colored dots with their names (always Root to Crown), zodiac signs with glyphs drawn for the theme (Aries to Pisces), the element, and a highlighted care warning (“Not water safe”) whose icon follows your words. How to use opens under it. Up to three intention chips show on every product card. A disclaimer, on by default, sits in the footer and the buy box: “Crystals and rituals are spiritual practices, not a substitute for medical advice.”
Shop by intention and by sign
Intention tarot cards (Calm, Protection, Love, Abundance and Clarity, or your own), each with a Roman numeral, your photo in a round medallion and a nameplate, lead to the products that hold that intention. A twelve‑sign zodiac wheel marks the sun’s current season, and Find your sign works out a shopper’s sign from their birthday, in the browser, lights it on the wheel and moves focus to its link; on phones the signs become a grid of tiles. Cards and signs link to your collection filtered through Shopify’s free Search & Discovery app, or each to a collection of its own.
A live moon phase
Tonight’s moon, worked out in the shopper’s browser with no app or outside service: a disc lit to tonight’s shape and drawn as it looks from their hemisphere, the phase name, how much is lit, and the next new and full moon in their own time zone, close to published moon tables (the phase within about a day). Beside it, For this moon shows the products from the collection you chose for the part of the cycle the moon is in, new, waxing, full or waning, with your words for each. The page doesn’t shift as it loads, and the phase and its products are right even without JavaScript. The moon also sits in the header, the announcement bar, a note on the product page, the newsletter and your blog’s dates.
Pick your piece
One‑of‑a‑kind stones, sold as one product with a Piece option, show as a grid of photo cards, one per stone, each with its own photo, price, weight and size. Choosing a piece brings its photo into the gallery, updates the price and the page’s address, and names it on the button (“Add piece B to bag · $72.00”). Sold pieces fade and read “Found a home”, the count of pieces left goes down, and an optional Intuitively chosen card lets you choose for the shopper. Each piece is one unit, so there’s no quantity or low‑stock line, and the grid is a real radio group for keyboard and screen reader users. A Pieces showcase puts the stones on your home page.

- You’ll need
- A Shopify store on any plan that can publish a theme, and a computer to upload it (phones can’t upload theme files). The installments message under the price needs Shop Pay Installments switched on, where Shopify offers it.
- Your data
- Intentions, chakras, zodiac signs, element, how to use, a care note and an origin read product metafields, and each piece’s weight and size read variant metafields, that you set up once, with no app; the user guide walks you through each one. A one‑of‑a‑kind product has a Piece option with one variant per stone, each with its own photo and a stock of one. Choose a collection for each part of the moon’s cycle. The theme doesn’t send email: the Moon notes newsletter collects sign‑ups, and you write the notes. Keep every claim to tradition and belief; the disclaimer is a reminder to shoppers, not a license for health claims.
