Products, photos and the demo text aren't there after I install

They aren't included. The demo stores in the listing photos use our own sample products and pictures. Your products appear as soon as you add them, and sections that need a product or image show samples in the theme editor until you choose one.

My hero has no picture on my live store

That's how a fresh install works. The still life you see in the theme editor is a sample that only you see. Choose an Image in the Hero section (chapter 4).

The Discovery set section doesn't show

Choose both a Set product and a collection in Scents to choose from, check that a set size has a number in it, and check the collection holds something other than sets and product.goods products. On a set's own page, the product is filled in for you, but you still need the collection (chapter 9).

My set's card shows a size line

The product isn't tagged. Add the discovery-set tag, or your own Discovery set tag, and the line goes (chapter 9).

The set page says "This set can't be filled on this page yet."

The product has the tag, but no working Discovery set section. Give it the product.discovery-set template, and check that the collection in Scents to choose from holds scents.

An order for a set came through with no scents

The set isn't tagged. Add your Discovery set tag (discovery-set by default): a tagged set has no ordinary buy buttons, on its page or in quick view, so it can only be added with its scents.

The rack is listing my atomisers

The rack leaves out sets and anything on product.goods. Give the atomiser that template, or choose a collection of scents only in Scents to choose from (chapter 9).

A scent sold in a set still shows the same stock

Stock is counted on the set, not on the scents in it (chapter 9).

My discount code takes money off a 1 ml sample

It's set to a product or collection. Select only the full-bottle variants under Applies to (chapter 9).

The code gave a shopper double the credit

Check Only apply discount once per order (chapter 9).

The code says it isn't available to a shopper who bought a set

A segment code only works once they're a customer in that segment, and they must check out with the same email address or phone number as their set order (chapter 9).

No price per ml shows

Each variant needs a Shopify unit price or custom.volume_ml. A value like 10 ml draws the bottle but doesn't set the price per ml. Check Show price per ml is on too (chapter 8).

The price says "per 100 ml", not "per ml"

That's the Base measure on the variant's unit price. Set it to 1 ml (chapter 8).

I can't find Unit price on a variant

Open the variant itself, not the product, and look in its Pricing section. Your store's Unit system decides which units you're offered. If you still don't see it, use custom.volume_ml (chapter 8).

My sizes are plain buttons, not bottles

The option's name must be in Size option names, and the values must be in ml, such as 10 ml, or have a custom.volume_ml value on their variants. Capitals don't matter, but the spelling does. A product on product.goods always gets plain buttons.

My sizes in ounces have no bottles

Only ml is read. Give the ml as well, 100 ml (3.4 oz), or fill in custom.volume_ml (chapter 8).

An oil says "about 150 sprays"

Give it the product.oil template. If it's in quick view, see Quick view in chapter 6.

The Scent profile doesn't show

It isn't on product.discovery-set or product.goods, and it disappears on a product with no data. Check the product's template, then the metafield's namespace and key (chapter 7).

A note shows on the Scent profile but not on the card

The metafield was made with One value. Cards need List of values (chapter 7).

An accord doesn't show

It must be written Name:number, such as Woody:80 (chapter 7).

Sillage doesn't show

It must be a whole number from 1 to 4 (chapter 7).

The finder says "Nothing close yet" for everything

Your Families lines don't match your custom.family values, or the scents have no data. Lower Lowest match to show if the matches are simply weak (chapter 11).

The finder ranks something that isn't a scent

That product has a custom.family. Clear it, or choose a collection of scents only in Scents to rank (chapter 11).

A strip's tip has no colour

The word isn't one of the five families or in Family names, so it gets the neutral tint. Add a line, such as Citrus | fresh (chapter 2).

There's no Family filter on my collection

Filters need the Search & Discovery app. Add the filter there and check Enable filtering is on (chapter 13).

The product page says nothing about free shipping

Set Theme settings › Commerce › Free shipping over. It only shows to shoppers paying in your store's currency.

My card shows no quick add button

Turn on Show quick add button in Theme settings › Product cards. The presets have it on. A sold-out product has no button, and a discovery set gets a link to its page.

The newsletter promises samples and I don't send any

The theme doesn't send email. Write and send it from Marketing, or change the Newsletter section's heading and body (chapter 4).

Can I add an "inspired by" or "dupe of" field?

Decant has none on purpose, and we suggest you don't add one: it's a trademark risk (chapter 7).

Can I use Decant on more than one store?

Each purchase covers one store. Buy a licence for each additional store (see LICENSE.txt).

How do I update to a new version of Decant?

Updates are provided at Buglyph's discretion and download the same way as your original purchase. Upload the new zip as a new theme and set it up alongside your live one before publishing. Your metafields, products, tags, collections, menus, pages, discounts and Search & Discovery filters live in your store, not the theme, so they carry over. Theme editor changes, including your Size and concentration settings and your Discovery set and Fragrance finder sections, need to be made again in the new copy.

Does Decant need any apps?

No app is needed for the size and concentration picker, discovery sets, the Scent profile or the fragrance finder. Shopify's free Search & Discovery app powers the filters and the complementary products, and its free Translate & Adapt app handles other languages. Subscriptions need a subscription app, and the rating needs a review app.
