Decant documentation
Decant is a Shopify theme by Buglyph for independent and niche perfume houses, decant and sample sellers, oil-perfume and attar makers, and fragrance discovery-box brands. It's a quiet perfume counter: glass, light and paper. The page is the pale grey-green of a glass edge, everything hangs from thin vertical rules, and the one shape in the theme is the blotter: a long paper strip cut to a point, with a wet tinted mark at its tip. Strips are the badges, the notes, the buttons, the thumbnails and the family tiles. The hero is the same idea at full size: a picture cut into hanging strips, so the bottle looks seen through reeded glass.
Under the calm, Decant is a selling tool for one shopper, who researches. They compare price per ml, read the notes, ask how long a scent lasts, and would rather pay for 1 ml than gamble on a bottle. Its four tools answer those questions: size and concentration (sizes drawn as bottles on a shelf in true relative size, with the price per ml beside them), discovery sets (a rack of paper strips the shopper picks from to fill a set of vials, at one price per set), the scent profile (notes, accords, longevity, sillage and what to layer it with) and the fragrance finder (three questions that rank your own scents as the shopper taps).
This guide covers Decant 1.0.0. Every setting name in it is the name you see in the theme editor.
