Products, photos and the demo text aren't there after I install

They aren't included. The demo stores in the listing photos use our own sample products. Your products appear as soon as you add them, and sections that need a collection or product show placeholders until you choose one.

Only the first paragraph of my product description shows

The presets turn on Show only the first paragraph in the Description block, so the buy box stays short; the rest shows under the product, in The details, while the Product details section's Show the rest of the description is on. If you removed that section or turned that off, turn off Show only the first paragraph too (open a product page in the theme editor and select the Description block in the Product section).

My metal option shows as a menu, not chips

Its name must be in Theme settings › Jewelry › Metal option names ("Metal, Finish, Stone, Colour, Color" by default; capitals don't matter). An option called "Plating" or "Metal colour" needs adding there.

A metal shows as a small text tile instead of a chip, or in the wrong color

The chip's color comes from a Shopify swatch on the value, or from a line in Chip colours whose name matches it (chapter 8). Add a line such as Oxidised silver: #9a9da1 #3f4246. If "14k Yellow gold" shows as plain gold, check that "Yellow gold" is listed above "Gold": the first line whose name the value contains wins.

The ring size option's name must be in Theme settings › Jewelry › Ring size option names ("Ring size" by default; capitals don't matter), and at least one of its values must read as a ring size in your system: a number from 3 to 13 for US, a letter for UK and Australia (chapter 9).

The ring size guide doesn't mark my size, or has no Choose buttons

Your ring sizes are in must match how your option values are written: numbers ("6", "6½") for US, letters ("M", "M½") for UK and Australia (chapter 9). Values with other words in them have no row; UK/AU letters that aren't on the chart use the nearest row. A size the product sells but has sold out shows "Sold out" instead of Choose.

There's no "Print a ring sizer" button

Create the ring sizer page and choose it in Theme settings › Jewelry › Printable ring sizer page (chapter 9).

A customer's printed ring sizer came out the wrong size

It was scaled when printed. In the print dialog, choose 100% or Actual size and turn off Fit to page or Shrink to fit, then check the 10 cm line with a ruler (or a bank card against the outline) before cutting. Printing from a computer is more reliable than printing from a phone.

The engraving fee isn't added to the bag

Choose your fee product in Theme settings › Jewelry › Engraving fee product, and check that the product is Active and published to the Online Store sales channel (chapter 10). While Add engraving is ticked, the accelerated checkout buttons under the add button are hidden, so an engraved piece always goes through the bag with its fee.

Engraving doesn't show on a product, or shows on every product

With Theme settings › Jewelry › Show engraving only on products tagged engravable on (the default), only products tagged with the Engravable badge tag (engravable) offer engraving: add the tag to the product. If every product offers it, that setting is off or the Engravable badge tag is blank (chapter 10). In the theme editor it always shows, as a sample.

The stack builder doesn't show on my store

It needs a collection: choose one in the section's Pieces. Without one, it shows only in the theme editor, as a sample.

The rings in my stack show as small photos under the display, not on it

Those pieces have no stack image. Upload a transparent PNG to each product's (or variant's) custom.stack_image metafield (chapters 7 and 11). Pieces past the display's last position also show as photos.

The stack discount isn't taken off at checkout

The theme only shows the note. Create the discount as an automatic discount in Discounts (chapter 11).

The material badges don't show

Check the metafield's key is exactly custom.materials and its type is Single line text with List of values (chapter 7). Shopify suggests a key from the name you type, and keys are case-sensitive.

The Engravable or New badge doesn't show

A card shows at most two badges, in the order Sold out, Pre-order, Sale, Only 2 left, New, Engravable. Check the tag (engravable, or the one in Theme settings › Product cards › Engravable badge tag; new for New).

There's no "Only 2 left" on a nearly sold-out piece

The card badge shows for products with a single variant whose inventory Shopify tracks, set to stop selling at zero, with 1 to Theme settings › Product cards › Low stock threshold (3; 0 turns it off) left. On the product page, the Inventory block shows the stock of the chosen variant with its own threshold.

I chose the Inline header but see the Stacked one

Inline switches to Stacked by itself when the menu has more than 7 top-level links, the shop name is longer than 18 characters, the logo is set wider than 220px, or the screen is 1100 to 1279px wide (chapter 3).

My menu promo doesn't show

Promos show in mega menu panels only: the top-level link needs two levels of children (chapter 3), and the promo's Menu item must be that link's title, with a Heading. Each link shows at most two.

Can I use Clasp on more than one store?

Each purchase covers one store. Buy a licence for each additional store (see LICENSE.txt).

How do I update to a new version of Clasp?

Updates are provided at Buglyph's discretion and download the same way as your original purchase. Upload the new zip as a new theme and set it up alongside your live one before publishing. Your metafields, products, collections, menus, pages and discounts live in your store, not the theme, so they carry over; theme editor changes need to be made again in the new copy.

Does Clasp need any apps?

No app is needed for the metal chips, material badges, the ring size guide and printable sizer, engraving and its fee, the stack builder or the birthstones. Shopify's free Search & Discovery app powers filters and complementary products, and its free Translate & Adapt app handles other languages. Subscriptions need a subscriptions app, and reviews come from a reviews app of your choice (Clasp shows the stars from Shopify's review metafields).
