The header group holds the Announcement bar and the Header; the footer group holds the Footer. They appear on every page.

Announcement bar

A stone bar above the header with three zones: start, centre and end. Up to six items, each one of:

  • Announcement: Text ("White-glove delivery included on every order"), Link and Position (Start, Centre or End). Start and end items show on screens 990px and wider; on phones only the centre items show, so put your most important message in the centre.
  • Countdown (one per bar): Label ("Sale ends in"), End date (2026-11-27), End time (23:59), Time zone (the store's, or a UTC offset), Link, Position, and After the deadline: hide the countdown or show a message.
Important

use a real deadline that is the same for every shopper. Shopify doesn't allow fake countdowns, so don't extend or restart a deadline to create urgency.

The Atelier preset puts the showroom address at the start, the delivery offer in the centre and "Free material samples" and "Trade programme" at the end. Point the samples item at your samples page and the trade item at your trade page.

One row: the lintel mark and shop name (or your logo) with the tagline, the menu after it, and the utilities on the right.

Trade link label"Trade"The word for the trade link. Empty uses the label in theme settings.
Trade linkEmptyLeave it empty to use the Trade page from theme settings. With neither, the trade link is hidden.

When a menu has more top-level links than fit on one row, the header keeps them on one line and moves the rest into a More item at the end. On screens under 990px the header shows the menu button, the logo, search and the cart; the account link, the trade link and the country and language selectors move to the foot of the menu drawer. Account links appear only when customer accounts are turned on in Settings › Customer accounts. In the Icons style, choose the account panel's menu in Theme settings › Customer accounts.

Menu promo blocks (up to six) add an image tile to a mega menu: Menu item (the title of a top-level link, such as Furniture; at most two promos per link), Image, Heading ("Ready to ship"), Text ("Delivered in 1 to 2 weeks"), Title when there's no heading and Link. A promo only shows when its menu item has child links and the menu style is Mega menu.

Build menus in admin under Content › Menus. For a mega menu, nest links two levels deep: a top-level link (Furniture), child links that become the column headings (Seating, Tables, Storage), and grandchild links under each (Lounge chairs, Sofas, Benches). The presets use three menus: main-menu (the header and the footer's Shop column), about (the footer's Studio column) and footer (the footer's Help column: delivery, returns, care, samples, trade, contact).

The footer is a stone band with columns, then a bottom row with the lintel mark, shop name and copyright, policy links and payment icons.
