Products, photos and the demo text aren't there after I install

They aren't included. The demo stores in the listing photos use our own sample products. Your products appear as soon as you add them, and sections that need a collection or product show placeholders until you choose one.

Why don't I see scent notes, family glows or the burn label?

They come from metafields, which you create once (chapter 7) and fill on each product. Check the namespace and key are exactly custom.top_notes, custom.scent_family, custom.burn_time and so on (Shopify suggests a key from the name you type, and keys are case-sensitive), and that the notes are a List of values. In the theme editor, blocks with no data show a sample tagged "Sample"; shoppers never see it.

Every product shows the same notes

The Scent notes block's fallback fields are filled in on the template, and fallbacks show on every product that uses it. Clear them once your products have their own metafields (chapter 8). The same goes for a Spec row's Value.

The scent strength meter doesn't show

It needs a whole number from 1 to 5 in custom.scent_strength (or the block's fallback), and Show scent strength on.

The shop by scent tiles show every product

The tiles filter through Search & Discovery: add the Scent family filter in the app (chapter 9). Until then, Shopify ignores the filter in the link. Or give each tile a Collection of its own.

The scent chips don't show on my collections

Add the Scent family filter in Search & Discovery, make sure Theme settings › Scent › Scent family metafield names the same metafield (custom.scent_family), and keep Enable filtering on in the Collection section.

The gift box section doesn't show on my storefront

It needs at least one Box size block and a Collection with products in it. In the theme editor it shows samples until both are there.

A product I don't want boxed shows up in the gift box

The builder lists every product in its collection except gift cards, the section's packaging products and your gift wrap product. Choose a collection that holds only the products you want boxed (chapter 10).

Does the gift box apply its discount by itself?

No. The tags and summary lines are words; the discount is an automatic discount you create in Shopify admin › Discounts. Chapter 10 has two recipes.

How do I know which lines belong to which box when I pack?

Every line of a box carries the same Gift box property in the order, such as "Box of 3 · A1B2", and the box's note is on its packaging line (or first item) as Gift note.

Where does the gift note in the bag go?

It's Shopify's order note, so it shows as Notes on the order in admin. A gift box's note is separate and travels with that box.

Does Wick show hazard pictograms for candles?

No. The safety row has a generic warning triangle only. If you must show a CLP pictogram, add it as an image in the safety rich text (chapter 11).

Can I use Wick on more than one store?

Each purchase covers one store. Buy a licence for each additional store (see LICENSE.txt).

How do I update to a new version of Wick?

Updates are provided at Buglyph's discretion and download the same way as your original purchase. Upload the new zip as a new theme and set it up alongside your live one before publishing. Your metafields, products, collections, discounts and pages live in your store, not the theme, so they carry over; theme editor changes need to be made again in the new copy.

Does Wick need any apps?

No app is needed for scent notes, the burn label, care and safety, the gift box, gift wrap or the gift note. Shopify's free Search & Discovery app powers filters (including the scent chips and the shop by scent links) and complementary products, and its free Translate & Adapt app handles other languages. Subscriptions need a subscriptions app, reviews come from a reviews app of your choice (Wick shows the stars from Shopify's review metafields), and a box-only discount needs a discount app.
