Products, photos and the demo text aren't there after I install

They aren't included. The demo stores in the listing photos use our own sample products. Your products appear as soon as you add them, and sections that need a collection or product show placeholders until you choose one.

Why don't I see rarity badges, edition numbers or game stats?

They come from metafields, which you create once (chapter 7) and fill on each product. Check the namespace and key are exactly custom.rarity, custom.edition_size and so on, and that edition numbers are on the variant, not the product. A rarity must be one of Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, Legendary or Chase; renamed labels such as "Secret rare" change only what the badge says.

Does Remind me send emails?

No. It adds the shopper to your customers, subscribed to email marketing and tagged for that drop. You send the reminder from Shopify Email or your email app to customers with that tag (chapter 9).

Is the purchase limit enforced at checkout?

No. It caps the quantity on the product page and in the cart, and says so, but a customer could place a second order. Use a Shopify app or a checkout rule for a hard limit.

Where are shoppers' "Got it" ticks stored? Can I see them?

In each shopper's own browser. You can't see them, they aren't linked to customer accounts, and they don't follow the shopper to another device (chapter 10).

The header sets button isn't showing

It needs Let shoppers track what they own on and a My sets page chosen in Theme settings › Collecting, and Show sets button on in the Header.

The "Got it" toggle isn't on my cards

With Show "Got it" toggle set to Only for products in a set, a product needs its Set metafield (custom.set_collection). Choose On every card to show it everywhere.

The rarity strip doesn't show on my collections

Add a Rarity filter in Search & Discovery and make sure its name matches Rarity filter name, or turn on Build the rarity strip from tags for rarity: tags (chapter 13).

The countdown says the wrong time

Check the Time zone setting next to the date (Store time zone uses the one in Settings › General), that the date is written as 2026-11-27 and the time as 19:00, and for product drops, the product's Release date metafield.

I don't sell figures. Is Loot still for me?

Yes. Every collector feature hides without its data, so a plush, pins or merch shop gets the blister cards, palettes, drops and bundles without rarity or game fields. Try the Vapor palette.

Can I use Loot on more than one store?

Each purchase covers one store. Buy a licence for each additional store (see LICENSE.txt).

How do I update to a new version of Loot?

Updates are provided at Buglyph's discretion and download the same way as your original purchase. Upload the new zip as a new theme and set it up alongside your live one before publishing. Your metafields, products, collections and pages live in your store, not the theme, so they carry over; theme editor changes need to be made again in the new copy.

Does Loot need any apps?

No app is needed for drops, rarity, the set tracker or game stats. Shopify's free Search & Discovery app powers filters (including the rarity strip and player chips) and complementary products, and its free Translate & Adapt app handles other languages. Subscriptions need a subscriptions app, and reviews come from a reviews app of your choice, added as an app block.
