Products, photos and the demo text aren't there after I install

They aren't included. The demo stores in the listing photos use our own sample products and renders. Your products appear as soon as you add them, and sections that need a collection or product show placeholders until you choose one.

My Length option shows as tiles, not the length scale

Two things are needed (chapter 8): the option's name must be in Theme settings › Hair, lashes and nails › Length option names ("Length, Hair length" by default; capitals don't matter), and every value must read as a length: 18 in, 18", 18 or 45 cm. One value like "18 in (pre-plucked)" or "Custom length" turns the whole option back into tiles.

The figure doesn't show beside the scale

It hides with only one length, with more than 14 lengths, in narrow spaces (a small quick view), and when Show the figure beside the length scale is off or the Variant picker block's Figure beside the length scale is set to Hide.

The hair on the figure stops at the wrong place

The first six lines of Length landmarks set where the chin, shoulder, armpit, mid-back, waist and hip are, in that order (chapter 7). Keep six lines, shortest first, and change the numbers to suit your model.

My Texture option shows as tiles, not chips

Every value needs a picture: a Shopify swatch image, a line in Texture images, or a name Tress can draw (straight, body wave, deep wave, water wave, curly and the words in chapter 8). One value with none, such as "Natural black", turns the whole option into tiles. Add a line for it to Texture images, or give it a swatch image.

A texture chip shows the wrong picture, or none, though I added it to Texture images

Type the file name exactly as Content › Files shows it, extension included (body-wave-swatch.jpg, not Body wave swatch), and the texture's name as your option value spells it. A Shopify swatch image on the value wins over the list.

There's no (i) button on my Lace option

The option's name must be in Options with a glossary, and at least one of its values must have a line in Glossary whose term matches it, such as HD lace: … for "HD lace 13×4" (chapter 7).

My press-on set shows plain size tiles, with no custom panel or tip numbers

Tress only treats a product as a press-on set when it has an option named in Nail shape option names (Shape), or a size value equal to Custom size value (Custom). Check those names, and that the size option's name is in Nail size option names (Size). Tip numbers need a line for that size in Tip numbers per size, with exactly five numbers (chapter 10).

My Nail length option shows as tiles

Don't call it Length: that name is read as a hair length (chapter 8). Call it Nail length, or add your name to Nail length option names. Its values need the words short, medium, long or extra long (XL).

Buy it now disappeared on a press-on set

That's on purpose: while Custom is chosen and the ten sizes aren't all filled in correctly, accelerated checkout would skip them, so it's hidden with a note. It comes back once all ten are valid, or when a standard size is chosen.

The Hair details panel doesn't show my metafields

Check each definition's key is exactly the one in chapter 7 (custom.hair_origin, not custom.origin), its type matches (Single line text with one value, Integer for weight and wears, True or false for colouring, Rich text for care), and that the row's Show setting is on in the Hair details block. Values shown as stat pills aren't repeated in the rows.

The install builder doesn't show the total weight

Every piece in the install needs a weight: custom.weight_grams (Integer) on its variant or its product. If any piece has none, the weight is left out rather than shown wrong.

The install builder doesn't show on my store

Its Bundles collection isn't chosen, or is empty. In the theme editor it shows a sample (with "Choose a bundle collection to sell installs" on the button) until you choose one; shoppers see nothing until then.

The deal line shows, but checkout doesn't take anything off

The deal line is only words. Create the automatic discount in Discounts (chapter 7), and make the line say what the discount does.

Set Theme settings › Hair, lashes and nails › Build your install page to the address of your builder, such as /#install.

The instalments message doesn't show under the price

It's Shopify's, and appears only when Shop Pay Installments is enabled on your store and the Price block's Show Shop Pay Installments is on (chapter 7).

The cap guide never shows "Choose Medium"

The size names in Cap size table must match the values of the product's Cap size option ("Medium" and "Medium", not "M" and "Medium"), and the option's name must be in Cap size option names.

The header's Utility link label must have text, and either its Utility link or Theme settings › Hair, lashes and nails › Length chart page must be set. On phones it's in the menu drawer.

The newsletter heading promises a code I don't send

The thank-you line ("You're on the list. Watch your inbox.") promises nothing, but the Tress preset's heading offers 10% off. Set up a welcome email with the code in Marketing › Automations, or change the section's heading and fine print (chapter 4).

Can I use Tress on more than one store?

Each purchase covers one store. Buy a licence for each additional store (see LICENSE.txt).

How do I update to a new version of Tress?

Updates are provided at Buglyph's discretion and download the same way as your original purchase. Upload the new zip as a new theme and set it up alongside your live one before publishing. Your metafields, products, files, collections, menus, pages and discounts live in your store, not the theme, so they carry over; theme editor changes, including the settings in Hair, lashes and nails, need to be made again in the new copy.

Does Tress need any apps?

No app is needed for the length scale, texture chips, glossary, Build your install, the nail sizer, hair details, care or the cap guide. Shopify's free Search & Discovery app powers filters and complementary products, and its free Translate & Adapt app handles other languages. Subscriptions need a subscriptions app, and reviews come from a reviews app of your choice (Tress shows the stars from Shopify's review metafields).
