Baby showers, birthdays and grandparents who live far away: Littles has a wish list that shoppers can send to family as one link, with no app and no account.

  • A heart sits on every product card and beside the add button on the product page. Tapping it fills it in, shows "Saved to your wish list · View" at the bottom of the screen and bumps the heart count in the header. On the product page the heart saves the size (or other options) chosen, and follows a change of size while it's saved.
  • The wish-list page shows the saved things as cards: the photo, the title and price, a menu of sizes or options where there's a choice (sold-out ones marked and disabled), and Add to bag on each, or a disabled Sold out. Add all available (3) puts everything that can be bought in the bag in one go and says what it couldn't add ("Added 3 things to your bag. 1 is sold out."). Pressing a card's heart removes it, with Undo for 5 seconds.
  • Share this list opens a share box: an optional "Who's it for? (optional)" name, the link, Copy link ("Link copied. Send it to anyone.") and, on phones and devices that offer it, Share… for the device's own share sheet.
  • The shared link opens a read-only view, "A wish list for Ava", with Add to bag on each card, Add all available and a small Save to my list button, plus a link to "Start your own wish list". Opening a shared link never changes the visitor's own list unless they press Save to my list.

Honest limits

  • The list lives in one browser. It is stored on the shopper's own device (in the browser's local storage), not in your store: there are no customer accounts behind it and no app. A list saved on a phone isn't on the shopper's laptop, and clearing the browser's data, or a private window, starts a fresh list. Hearts and the count stay in step across tabs of the same browser.
  • Sharing works by link. The share link carries the list itself (the products, the sizes chosen and the name), so anyone who opens it sees the same things, on any device, with nothing to sign in to. It is a snapshot: things saved after the link was sent aren't in it, so send a new link after changing the list. The link isn't private: anyone who has it can see the list.
  • Nobody is told what was bought. The shared view doesn't mark things as given, so two guests can buy the same thing. Shoppers who want a gift registry that tracks purchases need a registry app.
  • A list holds at most Most things in a list (60 by default); saving one more drops the oldest, with the message "Your list is full, so we removed the oldest." A product you delete or unpublish drops off the shopper's own list, and a shared view says "1 item is no longer in the shop."
  • If a browser refuses to save (some private modes do), the hearts still work for that visit and the wish-list page says "Your browser isn't saving lists right now, so hearts last until you leave this page. Shared links still work."

Set up the wish-list page

  1. In admin, go to Online Store › Pages and click Add page.
  2. Title it "Wish list" (or your own words), leave the content empty, and under Theme template (in the page's sidebar) choose wish-list. Check the handle at the bottom of the page under Search engine listing is wish-list, then Save.
  3. In the theme editor, open Theme settings › Wish list and choose the page as Wish list page. (With the handle wish-list the header heart finds it anyway; choosing it is safer if you change the handle.)
  4. Link it in your menus: in Content › Menus, add a "Your wish list" link pointing at the page to your Help or footer menu. The header heart and the phone menu's Wish list row link to it already.

To look at the page in the theme editor, open it from the editor's page menu (Pages › Wish list). With an empty list, the editor shows sample cards and the share box with an example link; shoppers never see them.

Wish list promo section

The Wish list promo section explains the wish list on your home page: your words beside a sample list card that looks like the real thing (a title, three products with their price and an add button, the share box with a link and a "Link copied" note). The card is a picture: only its product links work.
