FAQ
Chapter 15 of the Littles user guide.
Products, photos and the demo text aren't there after I install
They aren't included. The demo stores in the listing photos use our own sample products. Your products appear as soon as you add them, and sections that need a collection or product show placeholders until you choose one.
My product description doesn't show on the product page
The presets show it with a Description block, after pickup and before "Shipping and returns". If you removed it, in the theme editor open a product page, click Add block in the Product section, choose Description, and drag it where you want it.
Why don't I see age badges, certification chips or the age warning?
They come from metafields, which you create once (chapter 7) and fill on each product. Check the namespace and key are exactly custom.age_range, custom.certifications, custom.age_warning and so on (Shopify suggests a key from the name you type, and keys are case-sensitive). The age badge can also come from a size option whose values read as ages (0-3 m, 3-6 m…). In the theme editor, blocks with no data show a sample tagged "Sample"; shoppers never see it.
Every product shows the same certifications (or the same warning)
The block's fallback (Certifications, Warning, Materials, Care) is filled in on the template, and fallbacks show on every product that uses it. A warning can also come from Theme settings › Safety › Default age warning, which shows on every product without its own. Clear them once your products have their own metafields, or keep them on a template used only by the products they're true for.
The Shop by age tiles show every product
The tiles filter through Search & Discovery: add the Age range filter in the app (chapter 8), and make each tile's Filter value match the stored value exactly (0-3 months, not 0–3 m). Until then, Shopify ignores the filter in the link. Or give each tile a Collection of its own.
The age chips don't show on my collections
Add the Age range filter in Search & Discovery, make sure Theme settings › Shop by age › Age filter metafield names the same metafield (custom.age_range), and keep Enable filtering on in the Collection section. Without the filter, an Age menu in the same settings gives link chips instead.
The age chips are in a strange order
They're ordered by age, read from values such as 3-6 months or 1-2 years. Values the theme can't read as an age (such as "Toddler") go last, as written.
There are no size tiles, size chips or size helper
They need a product option named in Theme settings › Sizing › Size option names ("Size, Age" by default). If your option is called something else ("Fits", "Talla"), add that name. Card size chips also need the size to be the product's only option, with 8 variants or fewer.
The size tiles show no height, or Choose doesn't select a size
The first column of the size table must match your size option's values (chapter 7): "6-12 m" matches "6–12 months", but not "6 to 12M (US)". Edit the Default size table (or the product's custom.size_table) so each size reads like the option value.
The size helper picks a size that's too small
Check the table's age and height ranges: the helper picks the first row whose range holds the child's age or height, and suggests sizing up within Suggest sizing up near the top of a size (10%) of the top of a size.
Is the wish list saved to the customer's account?
No. It is saved in the shopper's browser, with no account and no app, so it's on one device. Shoppers move it, or send it to family, with the share link (chapter 10).
Can guests see what's already been bought from a shared list?
No. The shared view shows the list as it was when the link was made and doesn't track purchases. For a registry that does, use a registry app.
The heart in the header goes to a missing page
Create a page with the page.wish-list template and the handle wish-list, or choose your page in Theme settings › Wish list › Wish list page (chapter 10).
The gift wrap switch doesn't show
Choose a product in Theme settings › Gifting › Gift wrap product. It shows only while that product can be bought (in stock, on the Online Store channel) or is already in the bag.
Does Littles show certification logos?
Only the ones you upload in the Certifications block, and only if you hold a licence to use them. The theme never draws certification marks; its chips are text with a generic check mark (chapter 11).
Can I use Littles on more than one store?
Each purchase covers one store. Buy a licence for each additional store (see LICENSE.txt).
How do I update to a new version of Littles?
Updates are provided at Buglyph's discretion and download the same way as your original purchase. Upload the new zip as a new theme and set it up alongside your live one before publishing. Your metafields, products, collections, menus and pages live in your store, not the theme, so they carry over; theme editor changes need to be made again in the new copy.
Does Littles need any apps?
No app is needed for shop by age, the size helper, the wish list, certifications, the age warning, materials and care, gift wrap or the gift note. Shopify's free Search & Discovery app powers filters (including the age chips and the Shop by age links) and complementary products, and its free Translate & Adapt app handles other languages. Subscriptions need a subscriptions app, and reviews come from a reviews app of your choice (Littles shows the stars from Shopify's review metafields).
