Blocks
Chapter 5 of the Derma user guide.
Blocks are the pieces inside a section. Select a section in the editor and use Add block to add one; drag to reorder.
Theme blocks
These work in any section that accepts theme blocks: Rich text, Section, the footer, the Product section and Featured product.
| Block | Settings |
|---|---|
| Heading | "Text" (italicize one word to set it in the accent colour; default "Every percentage, printed"), "Size" (Large or Small) |
| Text | "Text" (rich text), "Style" (Intro or Body) |
| Label | "Text": the small pill used above headings |
| Button | "Button label" (default "Learn more"), "Link", "Style" (Primary, Secondary or Text link). Not shown until a label is added. |
| Collapsible row | "Heading", "Content" (rich text), "Open by default". Connect a product, page or article metafield to "Content" as a dynamic source to show content that changes per item; a row with no content is hidden, so a row connected to a metafield disappears on products that lack it. |
| Custom Liquid | "Liquid" |
App blocks from apps you install (reviews, subscriptions, loyalty) can be added to the Product section, Featured product and Section.
Article blocks
The Article section is built from blocks, so you can reorder or remove them:
- Breadcrumb, Title, Featured image, Content, Tags and Share have no settings.
- Byline: "Show author", "Show reading time" and "Show medical reviewer". The reviewer line, "Medically reviewed by …", appears when the article has the
derma.reviewed_bymetafield (single line text, the reviewer's name and credentials), with the date fromderma.reviewed_on(date) when that is set too. Blog post cards show the reviewer in place of the publish date. Create both under Settings › Custom data › Blog posts.
Product blocks
The blocks inside the Product section and the Formula and use section are described in chapters 6 and 7.
