Cart
Chapter 12 of the Altar user guide.
Altar calls the cart the bag. Adding to it opens the bag drawer, which glides in from the side of the screen, and the bag's count in the header updates. The drawer and the cart page show the same things:
- Each line with its photo in a small tarot frame, its name, its options ("Medium · Lavender") or, for a one-of-a-kind product, its piece and weight ("Piece B · 142 g"), line item properties (such as Pre-order) and subscription plan, a quantity stepper (or "One of a kind" for a piece, which is always one unit), Remove and the line price, with any discount on the line under it.
- The free-shipping progress: a thin bar with a small gold star at its end and "You're $22.00 away from free shipping", then "You've got free shipping.", only when Theme settings › Commerce › Free dispatch over is above 0 and the shopper is paying in your store's currency.
- Order discounts, the subtotal, the tax note ("Tax included. Shipping calculated at checkout."), the Check out button and the accelerated checkout buttons; the drawer adds View bag, to the cart page.
- The order note, labelled with Theme settings › Commerce › Note field label ("Add a note or a gift message"; collapsible in the drawer), which arrives as the order's Notes in admin.
- Empty: tonight's moon, "Your bag is empty", "Start with an intention." and Continue shopping. In the drawer, a row of intention chips sits between them, each leading to the finder collection filtered by that intention.
| Section | Settings |
|---|---|
| Cart drawer | Show order note in the cart drawer (on) and Intentions in the empty bag ("Calm, Protection, Love, Abundance, Clarity": up to five, separated by commas; each links to the finder collection filtered by that value, so spell them as on your products, chapter 9) |
| Cart (the cart page) | Show order note on the cart page (on) |
Quantity changes and removals update the bag in place, and B2B quantity rules are checked as shoppers change quantities. Apps that change the cart are picked up too, and screen readers hear "Added to your bag." and "Bag updated."
