# Markets, currencies & languages

How Techno shows country and language selectors, displays prices in other currencies, and supports translation and right-to-left languages.

Techno works with Shopify Markets. You set up which countries you sell to, which currencies they see and which languages you publish in Shopify admin. The theme shows selectors and formats prices for whatever the shopper has chosen.

## Country and language selectors

| Where | When it shows |
| --- | --- |
| Footer | When Footer › "Show country and language selectors" is on |
| Mobile menu drawer | Always, below the menu |

In both places:

* The **country or region** selector appears when you sell to more than one country. Each option shows the country's currency, for example "Germany (EUR €)".
* The **language** selector appears when you've published more than one language. Each language is listed in its own name, for example "Deutsch".
* The shopper chooses and presses "Update".

Set up countries in **Settings › Markets** and languages in **Settings › Languages**.

## Prices and currency

Prices are shown in the shopper's currency, using the format set in **Settings › General › Store currency**.

Theme settings › Commerce › "Show currency code". Off by default. Turn it on to print the currency code, such as USD or CAD, beside every price: product prices, the add-to-cart button, search suggestions, filter chips and the cart's line prices and totals. Gift card balances are in their own currency and don't carry the code. This helps when several of your markets use the same symbol, like $ for US, Canadian and Australian dollars.

> **Note:** Theme settings › Commerce › "Free dispatch over" is an amount in your store's default currency. It isn't converted, so the free dispatch messages in the header, the cart and under the add-to-cart button only show to shoppers browsing in that currency. Shoppers in a market with another currency see no free dispatch message. If you want to state a shipping offer to every market, describe it in a Status text block or the Returns note instead.

## Translating the theme

Techno ships with English text. To sell in other languages:

1. Add and publish the language in **Settings › Languages**.
2. Translate the theme's text, your products and your content with Shopify's **Translate & Adapt** app, or another translation app.

Text you type into theme settings, such as a Hero heading, is translated in the same app.

## Right-to-left languages

For right-to-left languages such as Arabic and Hebrew, Techno switches the page direction automatically. Layouts mirror, and SKUs, barcodes and web addresses stay left-to-right so they read correctly.
