# Markets and languages

Chapter 14 of the Sprinkle user guide.

* **Countries and currencies**: set up markets in admin under **Settings › Markets**. With more than one, the footer and the phone menu show a country/currency selector. Prices convert through Shopify. The cake builder's live total and the mix box's button use your store's money format, so a shopper paying in another currency sees the right digits with your store's symbol until they reach the bag, which shows the right currency.
* **Languages**: Sprinkle ships in English. Add languages under **Settings › Languages** and translate with Shopify's free **Translate & Adapt** app, which covers the theme's words, your section text, your settings and your metafields. With more than one language published, a language selector appears beside the country selector.
* **Dates in the bag are always English.** The calendar's month names, the date on the pill and the saved value ("Sat 7 Nov 2026") stay in English in every language, so the date on your orders is always in one format. The weekday headings and the sentences around the date translate with the theme's words.
* **The order's attribute and property names stay the same**: `Pickup date`, `Time slot`, `Fulfilment`, and the cake's `Flavour`, `Filling`, `Frosting`, `Message` and `Inspiration photo`, so your orders read the same whatever language the shopper uses. The **Cart property name** of the mix box is your setting. The shopper's choices arrive in their language: a translated flavour reaches the order translated.
* **Dietary chips in other languages**: chips filter by the values stored on your products. If you translate your values, add the translated words to **Dietary labels** or to your **Dietary chip** blocks, so they keep their order and their filter.
* **Option names**: the builder and the box find their size option by name. If you translate it, the builder's Size step still shows, as cards when the variants have servings. The box falls back to the product's first option, so keep the size option first. The box's size comes from the number in the value, so keep the digit in a translated value: "Boîte de 12".
* **Time zones**: order ahead always works in your **Store time zone**, whichever market the shopper is in. A shopper in Los Angeles ordering from a Sydney bakery sees Sydney's dates.
* **Right-to-left languages** such as Arabic and Hebrew mirror the layout, including the back-to-top button's side. Shop the table's hotspots stay where you put them on the photo, because the photo isn't mirrored.
* **Free delivery** messages show only to shoppers paying in your store's currency, because the threshold can't be converted reliably.
* **Countdowns** are absolute moments: every shopper counts down to the same instant.
