# FAQ

Chapter 14 of the Roast user guide.

## Are the demo products and photos included?
No. The presets include the layout and demo text only. Your store shows your own products and images; replace the demo copy, prices and promises with your own.

## Why doesn't the Cupping notes section show on my product?
It reads the product's `custom` metafields (chapter 7). The flavour profile needs all five values; the roast and brew card needs a roast level, brew methods or a grind; the origin card needs at least one row with a value. With none, the whole section hides.

## The subscription options don't appear
Selling plans come from a subscriptions app (chapter 9). Check that the app is installed, the product (and the variant) is in a plan, and Buy buttons › **Show subscription options** is on.

## The next roast date is a day out
Check your store's time zone (Settings › General), the **Order cut-off**, and **Days off**. The date is worked out in the shopper's browser, so a computer with the wrong clock sees the wrong date.

## The roast countdown or stamps don't show
The schedule must be on with a roast day ticked. Stamps also need **Card stamps** on, and the product either tagged `roast-to-order` or given a `custom.roast_date` within **Show roast dates for**. Sold-out products have no stamp.

## How do I update to a new version of Roast?
Updates are provided at Buglyph's discretion and download the same way as your original purchase. Upload the new zip as a new theme and set it up alongside your live one before publishing. Your metafields, metaobjects, products and pages live in your store, not the theme, so they carry over; theme editor changes need to be made again in the new copy.

## Can I use Roast on more than one store?
Each licence covers one store. Buy a licence for each additional store. See `LICENSE.txt`.

## Does Roast need any apps?
Only for subscriptions, which need a subscriptions app such as the free Shopify Subscriptions. Shopify's free Search & Discovery app powers filters and complementary products, and its free Translate & Adapt app handles other languages. Reviews come from a reviews app of your choice, added as an app block.
