# Blocks

Chapter 5 of the Roast user guide.

Sections that accept **theme blocks** (Rich text, Section, the Product section, the footer and others) can hold these general blocks, in any order:

| Kicker | Text (Fresh this week): the small line above a heading, with the Kicker icon |

| Button | Button label, Link, Button style (Filled or Outline) |
| Collapsible row | Heading (Freshness and delivery), Content, Open by default. Connect a product, page or article metafield to Content for text that changes per item, such as a brewing note. |
| Custom Liquid | Liquid |

Blocks whose names start with a section's own feature (Tasting notes, Freshness, Flavour profile, Subscription style, Brew method and so on) are offered only inside the sections they belong to; chapters 6 to 10 describe them. Sections that accept **app blocks** (Product, Featured product and Section) also list the blocks your installed apps provide, such as review stars or a subscription widget.
