# Cart

Chapter 12 of the Peel user guide.

Peel calls the cart the **bag**. Adding to it opens the **bag drawer**, which slides in from the side of the screen, and the bag's count in the header updates. The drawer and the cart page show the same things. On the cart page the lines sit on one side, with a summary beside them that stays in view:

* **The free gift bar**: at the top of the drawer, and at the top of the summary on the cart page (chapter 11).
* **Each line** with its photo as a small die-cut, its name, its options, any subscription plan, any line properties (the pack's **Stickers**, a **Pre-order** note), a pack's small round pictures, a quantity stepper, **Remove** and the line price, with any discount under it.
* **A gift line** with no stepper or Remove, tagged **Free gift** when it costs nothing (chapter 11).
* **The order note**: a field labelled **Order note**, which folds away in the drawer, and which arrives as the order's **Notes** in admin.
* **Order discounts**, the subtotal and the tax note ("Tax included. Shipping calculated at checkout."), then the **Check out** button, with the accelerated checkout buttons under it.
* **Empty**: "Your bag is empty", "Nothing stuck here yet." and **Shop stickers**.

Quantity changes and removals update the bag in place, and B2B quantity rules are checked as shoppers change quantities. Apps that change the cart are picked up too, and screen readers hear "Added to your bag." and "Bag updated."
