# Set tracker

Chapter 10 of the Loot user guide.

Collectors buy to finish a set. Loot lets shoppers tick what they already own and see what's missing:

* A **"Got it" toggle** on product cards (top right of the bubble), on every piece in a **Set tracker** section, and as "I have this" in the product page's set box.
* The **Set tracker** section shows every piece of a set as a small blister card, with a progress panel ("7 of 12", one segment per piece with the chase piece in foil, or one bar for sets over 24 pieces, and "58% complete"), **All / Missing / Got** tabs, and a bar that adds every missing piece to the cart in one go: "Add the 5 missing · $198.00".
* The product page's **Set box**: "Part of Neon Ronin wave 3 · You have 7 of 12" with a progress ring and a "See what's missing" link.
* The **cart** nudges: "You're 4 away from Neon Ronin wave 3".
* The header's **sets button** shows how many sets the shopper is tracking, and links to their **My sets** page.
* Finishing a set says "Set complete. Nice haul." and throws confetti once (Theme settings › Motion and effects; never with reduced motion).

## Where the "owned" list is kept

**On the shopper's device only.** Ticks are saved in the shopper's own browser (its local storage), not in their customer account, and nothing is sent to you or anyone else. The section says so: "We keep count on this device." That means no sign-in and no app, but also that a shopper's ticks don't follow them to another phone or browser, and clearing the browser's data clears them. If the browser blocks storage, the toggles still work until the page is closed.

## Setting it up

1. **Make a collection for each set** (a series, wave, comic run or product line).
2. **Point products at their set**: fill each product's **Set** metafield (`custom.set_collection`, chapter 7) with that collection. Cards then show the "Got it" toggle (with **Show "Got it" toggle** set to Only for products in a set), and the product page shows the set box.
3. **Add a Set tracker section** to your home page or a collection page and choose the set, or rely on the one on the product page, which shows the product's own set.
4. **Create the My sets page**: in admin, **Online Store › Pages › Add page**, title it "My sets", and choose the theme template **page.sets**. Then choose that page in **Theme settings › Collecting › My sets page**. The header's sets button appears once that's set (with **Show sets button** on in the Header).

**Let shoppers track what they own** (Theme settings › Collecting, on) is the master switch. Off, every toggle, the progress, the set box's count, the sets button, My sets and the cart nudge go away; the set tracker still lists the pieces with an add-all key.

## Set tracker section

| Setting | Default | What it does |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Set | Empty | The collection that holds the set. On product pages, leave it empty to use the product's `custom.set_collection`. |
| Layout | Panel | **Panel**: the progress panel beside a six-column grid (for the home page). **Strip**: a heading row with the add key, then one band of larger cards (for the product page). |
| Background | Page | Page or Alternate band |
| Kicker, Kicker icon, Heading, Text | "Set tracker", Checklist | The heading defaults to the collection's title |
| Show "Add the missing" | On | The add-all bar |
| Add key label | "Add the [count] missing" | [count] becomes the number of missing pieces |
| Show prices | On | Prices on the pieces and the bar's total |
| Most pieces shown | 24 (6 to 50) | Sets larger than 50 show their first 50 |
| Foil for chase pieces | On | Pieces whose `custom.rarity` is chase get the foil card and the foil progress segment |

The tabs open on **Missing** once the shopper owns at least one piece, otherwise on **All**. The add-all key adds only pieces that can be bought and aren't in the cart already, one of each, then opens the cart drawer. If a piece sold out since the page loaded, the rest are still added and a line names the one that wasn't. With no set chosen, the editor shows six sample cards and your storefront shows nothing.

## Set box block

On the product page, for products with a Set metafield. **Show the "I have this" toggle** (on) and **Link label** ("See what's missing": to the Set tracker section on the same page when there is one, otherwise to the set's collection).

## My sets

The **My sets** section (on the `page.sets` template) lists every set the shopper has started on this device, with its picture, name, "7 of 12" and a progress bar. Settings: **Kicker**, **Heading** ("My sets"), **Text**, **Background**, and the empty state's **Heading** ("No sets yet."), **Text**, **Button label** ("Browse the shelves") and **Link** (defaults to your collections page).

## The cart nudge

**Show the set nudge in the cart** (Theme settings › Collecting, on): under the cart's lines, "You're 4 away from Neon Ronin wave 3", linking to the set, when a product in the cart belongs to a set the shopper tracks and pieces are still missing.
