# Markets and languages

Chapter 15 of the Inkwell user guide.

* **Countries and currencies**: set up markets in admin under **Settings › Markets**. With more than one, the footer and the phone menu show a country/currency selector. Prices, including each license's price on its card, convert through Shopify.
* **Languages**: Inkwell ships in English. Add languages under **Settings › Languages** and translate with Shopify's free **Translate & Adapt** app, which covers the theme's words, your section text, your settings and your metafields and metaobjects. With more than one language published, a language selector appears beside the country selector.
* **License cards**: the cards match your license option's values to your license entries by name. If you translate the option's values ("Personal" to "Persönlich" in German), translate the `license` entries' **Name** the same way in Translate & Adapt, and add the translated option name to **License option names** if the option's name changes ("Licence, Lizenz").
* **Preview page labels**: an image's alt text is translatable too. Keep the `#inside` tag at the start of every translation.
* **Right-to-left languages** such as Arabic and Hebrew mirror the layout, including the back-to-top button's side, the flip-through's arrow keys and the before and after slider. The Shop the flat lay section's tags stay where you put them on the photo, because the photo isn't mirrored.
* **Free shipping** messages show only to shoppers paying in your store's currency, because the threshold can't be converted reliably.
* **Countdowns** are absolute moments: every shopper counts down to the same instant.
