# Cart

Chapter 13 of the Inkwell user guide.

Adding to the cart opens the **cart drawer**, "Your cart", which glides in from the side of the screen, and the cart's count bubble in the header updates. The drawer and the cart page show the same things:

* Each line with its photo, name, options ("A4 · Commercial"), any line properties and subscription plan, the **Instant download** badge on downloads, a quantity stepper, **Remove** and the line price. A download's stepper is hidden while its quantity is 1 (**Theme settings › Digital products › Hide quantity for digital products**); a shopper who adds the same file twice gets the stepper back to correct it.
* The **delivery note**, a sticky note with an envelope icon ("Your files arrive by email and on your order page right after checkout"), when any line is a download (**Theme settings › Digital products › Delivery note in the cart**).
* Discounts, the subtotal, the tax note ("Tax included." for downloads; "Tax included. Shipping calculated at checkout." when something ships), the **Check out** button, accelerated checkout buttons, and **View cart** in the drawer.
* The free-shipping message ("Add $12.00 more for free shipping.", then "Your order ships free.") only when **Theme settings › Commerce › Free dispatch over** is above 0, the cart holds something that ships, and the shopper is shopping in your store's currency.
* The **order note**, which arrives as the order's **Notes** in admin.
* Empty: "Your cart is empty.", "Start with a free printable." and a button.

| Section | Settings |
| --- | --- |
| Cart drawer | **Show order note in the cart drawer** (on), and under **Empty cart**: **Button link** (where the empty cart sends shoppers, such as your freebies collection; blank goes to all products) and **Button label** ("Browse freebies") |
| Cart (the cart page) | **Show order note on the cart page** (on), **Button link** and **Button label** ("Browse freebies") |

Quantity changes and removals update the cart in place, and B2B quantity rules are checked as shoppers change quantities. Apps that change the cart are picked up too, and screen readers hear "Item added to cart." and "Cart updated."
