# Markets and languages

Chapter 15 of the Clasp user guide.

* **Countries and currencies**: set up markets in admin under **Settings › Markets**. With more than one, the footer and the phone menu show a country/currency selector. Prices, including the engraving fee product's, convert through Shopify.
* **Languages**: Clasp ships in English. Add languages under **Settings › Languages** and translate with Shopify's free **Translate & Adapt** app, which covers the theme's words, your section text and your settings. With more than one language published, a language selector appears beside the country selector. The engraving's property names ("Engraving", "Engraving style", "Piece") are theme words too, so translate them with care: they are what you read on orders.
* **Metal chips**: **Chip colours** matches the option value as the shopper sees it. If you translate your metal values, add a line for each translated name too (`Or jaune: #f2d98c #b08a3e`), or give the values Shopify swatches, which follow the value in every language.
* **Ring sizes**: the guide reads sizes as numbers (US) or letters (UK/AU). Keep your ring size values as numbers or letters in every language ("6", "6½", "M½"); a value with other words in it, such as "Taille 6", doesn't read as a ring size, and an option with no such values gets no guide.
* **Right-to-left languages** such as Arabic and Hebrew mirror the layout, including the back-to-top button's side. The Shop the flat lay section's numbers stay where you put them on the photo, because the photo isn't mirrored.
* **Free shipping** messages show only to shoppers paying in your store's currency, because the threshold can't be converted reliably.
* **Countdowns** are absolute moments: every shopper counts down to the same instant. The birthstone strip's current month follows each shopper's own clock.
