# Trade enquiries

Chapter 12 of the Atelier user guide.

Architects, interior designers and specifiers buy in quantity and ask for quotes. Atelier gives them a trade page with its own enquiry form, and every product, the cart and Shop the room can send a shopper there with the pieces already listed. Enquiries arrive as ordinary contact-form emails at your store's address; no app is needed.

## Set up the trade page

1. In **Online Store › Pages**, create a page called **Trade** (or Projects). Write a short introduction in its content: it shows under the heading.
2. Set its **Theme template** to `page.trade`.
3. In the theme editor, go to **Theme settings › Trade** and choose it as the **Trade page**. Set **Trade link label** to the word you use ("Trade", "Trade programme", "Projects").

The header's trade link, the buy box's "Request a trade quote", the cart's "Request a quote for this cart instead" and Shop the room's "Request a quote for the whole room" all appear once a trade page is chosen. Without one they stay hidden.

The `page.trade` template holds three sections: an **Icon row** in the Numbered list layout ("For architects, interior designers and specifiers") for your trade terms, the **Contact form** in **Trade enquiry** mode with two **Detail** blocks for your trade contact, and a **FAQ** ("Before you apply"). Rewrite the numbered items with your real trade discount, account terms and services.

## The trade enquiry form

The **Contact form** section with **Form** set to **Trade enquiry** has these fields: Name and Email (required), **Company**, **Role** (Architect, Interior designer, Developer, Stylist or Other), **Website**, Phone (with **Show a phone field**) and **Your project** ("The rooms, the pieces, the timing"; required). The button reads "Send enquiry" unless you set **Button label**, and after sending the shopper sees "Thank you. We'll reply within one working day." Each email is marked "Enquiry: Trade" so you can filter them in your inbox.

## Quote links

The trade page reads a `quote` value from its address and lists the pieces in a "Quote for" box above the form. It also copies the list into a hidden **Quote for** field and, when the project field is empty, into the project field so the shopper can add to it.

| Link | Sent from | What it lists |
| --- | --- | --- |
| `/pages/trade?quote=<product-handle>&variant=<variant-id>&qty=<n>` | **Request a trade quote** under the buy buttons (it carries the quantity in the buy box at the moment of the click) | "Arc lounge chair, Natural oak / Bouclé ivory, quantity 2" |
| `/pages/trade?quote=cart` | **Request a quote for this cart instead** in the cart drawer and on the cart page | Every cart line with its options and quantity, leaving samples out |
| `/pages/trade?quote=room&items=<handle>,<handle>,…` | **Request a quote for the whole room** in Shop the room (when its Quote link is blank) | Each piece in the room, quantity 1 (up to 12) |

You can build these links yourself, for example in an email to a designer or on a lookbook page: `/pages/trade?quote=arc-lounge-chair&qty=6` lists six Arc lounge chairs. Use your page's own address if it isn't `/pages/trade`. A handle that doesn't exist is skipped.

## Trade buyers who order online

For trade customers who buy through checkout, use Shopify B2B (on plans that include it) with company accounts, price lists and quantity rules; the buy box respects them (chapter 6). Add the **Trade order** section to a product template for a table of every variant with quantity fields.

## Turning trade off

Clear **Theme settings › Trade › Trade page**. The trade links disappear everywhere; turn off **Show request a trade quote** on the Buy buttons block to remove only the buy box link.
