# FAQ

Chapter 16 of the Atelier user guide.

## Are the demo products and photos included?
No. The presets include the layout and demo text only. Your store shows your own products and images; replace the demo copy, prices, lead times and promises with your own.

## The dimension line and the Dimensions section don't show on my product
They need a width (or diameter) and a height in the `custom` namespace, as product or variant metafields (chapter 7). Check the namespace and key are exactly `custom.width`, `custom.height` and so on. Will it fit also needs a depth.

## The material chips don't show; I see pills
The option's name must be in **Theme settings › Materials and samples › Material option names**, and its values need swatches (set on the option values in admin) or Material entries whose names match the values. Check the Material metaobject has **Storefronts** access turned on.

## The close-up shows, but there's no "Order a free sample"
Samples must be on (**Offer free material samples**), and the material needs a sample variant: its `sample` field, or a variant of the **Sample product** whose title matches the material's name. Also check the Variant picker block's **Show the free sample action**.

## Why does my product say "Made to order" when it's in stock?
It is tagged `made-to-order`, or it has lead-time metafields and its inventory isn't tracked, or it is tracked, set to continue selling and at zero. Remove the tag or track the stock (chapter 11).

## The "Request a trade quote" link doesn't appear
Choose your trade page in **Theme settings › Trade › Trade page**, and check **Show request a trade quote** on the Buy buttons block. Gift cards never show it.

## Where do trade enquiries and back-in-stock requests go?
To your store's sender email address, as contact form messages (**Settings › Notifications** shows the address). Nothing is sent to the shopper automatically.

## How do I update to a new version of Atelier?
Updates are provided at Buglyph's discretion and download the same way as your original purchase. Upload the new zip as a new theme and set it up alongside your live one before publishing. Your metafields, metaobjects, products and pages live in your store, not the theme, so they carry over; theme editor changes need to be made again in the new copy.

## Can I use Atelier on more than one store?
Each licence covers one store. Buy a licence for each additional store. See `LICENSE.txt`.

## Does Atelier need any apps?
No. Samples, lead times, Shop the room and trade enquiries are built in. Shopify's free Search & Discovery app powers filters and complementary products, and its free Translate & Adapt app handles other languages. Reviews, subscriptions and pre-order apps can add their own app blocks.
